European Youth Meeting 2009 - Bologna, 25-28 November 2009
Our Europe, my values, 20 years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall

For four days more than 200 young people coming from 27 European countries, from Norway and Turkey, crowded the place built by the Japanese architect Kenzo Tange in the heart of the Emilia-Romagna Region headquarters.
The number refers to the participants taking part in the 5th Meeting of the European youth, promoted by the Legislative Assembly, which took place in Bologna from 25 to 28 November 2009. Discussions and debates on the future of Europe, workshops, but also performances, conferences and videos animated this four-daylong event.
The 20th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall and its importance within the broader project of European integration accompanied participants’ reflection on the fundamental rights of the European Union. The topic was declined into three areas: Dignity and freedom, equality and solidarity, citizenship and justice.
Among the speakers: European Commission's Vice President Jacques Barrot, Mr. Andrea Ronchi , Italian Minister for EU Policies, European Commission's former President, Romano Prodi, and Ms. Aydan Iyiguengoer of the European Agency for Fundamental Rights.
